OK, now that we are settled into our home & Neo is working 5 days a week &
coming home just to work some more, I’m starting to get a little cabin feverish
& lonely for friendship… it’s time I look for a hobby here in Lancaster PA,
something that I can enjoy doing… but I want to get paid for it too… I have
a boyish side to me that likes to get dirty & build stuff, so I’ve worked in
construction in the past but prior to leaving Washington State, I got rid of
all my work boot’s & such… maybe it’s time for me to get a job in an
office… but is that what I really want, no it’s not!… one would think that
being with someone in the SEO world, there significant other would be a power
blogger or a well known character online… but that’s not me, I have a hard
time trying to think of something to blog about that people would find
interesting to read, I spend more time pre-typing a blog just to erase the
entire thing after I’m finished, cause I’m human & have emotions, I worry that
“YOU” (the blog reader) wont find it informational handy, entertaining or even worst,
critic my writing style…I’m not ready for hate mail (knock on wood).
Even though I’ve been with Neo for almost 5 years, I still don’t know what he is
talking about (I do but I don’t),I listen to his podcasts, read his blog posts &
try and copy what he does… I just haven’t been able to grasp it, and this is why
some people like myself would hire an SEO expert… we just don’t have the patience,
time or interest in this stuff, but we want to make lots of money online & we know
that in order for that to happen, we need our site to be easy for our target market to find.
Back to the hobby getting paid thing… the last job that I worked for was Servpro of Bellingham Wa (fire & flood restoration) & I loved it there, we were
one big happy family… it was a great feeling to show up to someones home &
help them when they needed it the most, I felt like a super hero & I even kinda
look like the cartoon character on the tv commercials :) plus everyone that I
worked with were all the greatest people, we made an awesome team of “Super
Heros” even though the job could be very stressful at times, some people don’t
react well, when there basement is 3′ deep in water (I don’t blame them) and
sometimes they need to take there emotions out on someone (which has been me a
few times) I would have to muster up my energy to stay strong & do the job
right & in the end, the result is always great, when all is said and done, they
get there home back & I can stand back and look at what I’ve accomplished…
very rewarding… So I’ve been thinking about contacting the local Servpro Co
here in Lancaster PA to see if they’re hiring & hopefully they are… I don’t
need to dress pretty, build an amazing website, work in an office, make ton’s of
money online… to be happy… now don’t get me wrong, I’m very proud of
David, not only is he great at what he does in his industry, he’s an amazing
man, very caring, awesome father, fun to be with & of course dead sexy!…
I just want to do, what makes me happy.
Thank you for reading my rant of the day. let’s see what else Lancaster has to
offer for me in the near future.
What a wonderful trip cross country - from Bellingham Wa to Lancaster PA in 6 day’s & in those six day’s was one of the best time’s in my life… Neo & I drove through many States that I have never been through.
The highlight for me of the trip, was going to Mount Rushmore!!! that was sweeeeeet, absolutely amazing… South Dakota was an amazing State.. a place that I’ll want to visit again, so much to do & many thing’s to see, the rock formation & colors were so beautiful. After leaving Mount Rushmore and getting back onto the main highway, we saw ton’s & ton’s of these funny advertising signs alongside the road for Wall Drug, which made the long ride fun… so of course we had to stop there… Wall Drug is a must to see!
Some nice guy offered to take out picture.
The first part of our journey brought us to Neo’s parents home in Eastern Washington, which is always a pleasure spending time with folk’s. The next morning we woke up early & started heading for our next destination… passing through Idaho & into Montana we were on our way for the Mystery Vortex THAT WAS FREAKY, it’s just one of those places you have to be there to understand but yet not understand. after walking through the vortexes, we went to a casino bar/restaurant in that town & oh my god,,, the food was sooooo good I was really surprised from the appearance of the bar, I would have thought that the food was going to taste like tipacle bar food, even the fries were tasty, I had the jalapeno burger mmmmm good stuff.
What I found interesting along the way was the other drivers, if you live in Washington State, or in Bellingham you’ll know what I’m talking about… people actually stayed to the right & drove 5+ miles over the speed limit… that blew my mind. TO BE CONTINUED
Day 1: Well I’ve heard the old saying “a journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step” I like it but I’m going to say (for PNW’ers) “A journey of a thousand miles starts with coffee!” We were up late last night / this morning putting the finishing touches on our old place, and packing the truck at the movers. Today we start our journey… our coffee pot is making it’s usual morning noises as I take notes… (ugh blogging every day for a week? I know it can be done)
So where are we headed next? Well first things first…coffee, then back to the pad for some last minute checks, turn in the DVR / modem / etc… to Comcast, a trip to the bank, then we’re on our merry way to our first stop! Spokane (yeah it’s a short drive when you look at the trip, but who can resist Mom’s cookin) So we’ll spend the night there tonight - maybe we’ll finally get some decent video for their website! ( Lanning Consruction Video ) Then off to a place I’ve wanted to visit since I can remember, but just kept putting off. The Montana Vortex promises to be a fun first leg to our journey. We’ll post pics and video when we can…. Then somewhere along the way we’ll probably run into my SEO 101 co-founder Brian Mark, then Ryan Sharrer, and maybe even a WRMineo!
Car’s tuned up, coffee’s made and I’m ready to roll! till next time!
I know I’m behind on the posts.. but I am taking notes and pictures… we’ll go back and do up the whole trip proper like BTW… the Montana Vortex was AMAZING!!! Our camera had a dead battery (long story) so I was only able to take pics w/ my LGVU - we’ll see how they turn out! For now here’s a pic of Mel on Mom’s front porch yesterday morning when we really started our trip - If you’d like to follow our road pics visit TwitPic & our 12seconds.tv channel We’re getting a bit of a late start today (especially since we have moved into a different time zone - we lost 1 hour already) But today is Billings MT -> Omaha NB (Look out Brian… we’re coming for ya!) Well I better get on the road 765miles logged yesterday… and 872 are needed to complete the trip today!
Oh yeah one last thing… if you want to send us a message your best bet is to private message (dm NeOBlog) on Twitter those are set to go straight to the cell phone - and even though this is BEAUTIFUL country the cell reception isn’t what it is in the Seattle area The Mr.
Well, since my fiance David Brown aka NeO of Top SEO Consultants works online… I figured that I too should have my very own blog… so here it is.
Being with someone in the SEO world can be really exciting & boring all at the same time, I learn new web stuff everyday, & I get to help out with the mundane repetitive duties NeO just doesn’t have the time or patience for, but for some odd reason I enjoy it! I find it to be relaxing. Of course, if your online… you just about have to be on all the social media sites, such as: Facebook, Twitter, Stumble, digg & many many many more! to keep updated on what’s new.
Being my first blog post and all, I’ll have a lot more (hopefully) interesting thing’s to blog about in the near future…
